restore winXP on acer aspire one 531H

hi all. it's 4:41 here and i really had a bad evening trying to recover my winxp that has gone crazy without motivation...

- <alt><F10> doesn't works, it just prompts me to a black screen with a fix "_" in the upper left corner. yes, not even blinking. all netbook leds off except for the bluetooth one that light on, but nothing else.

- i've managed to install a little ubuntu at the end of my HDD, at least now i see that the recovery partition is intact. moreover, grub gives me the "Windows Vista (loader)" that works: it loads the Acer eRecovery program. But seems that this program can see the HDD, telling me its long codename of letters and number, but can't find a C:\ partition to reload winXP there.what happened? I've tried formatting in fat32, unformatting, ntfs, labelling the was-winXP partition ACER, C, C:, Ctilde, POTATOES, but Acer eManagement can't see it.

is there a possibility to recover my *paid* winXP or it's lost forever?

I've found a file on the PQSERVICE partition that looks really like a eManagement log, if anyone can understand it...

I'm off now, the headache wins tonight.
